Synopsis
On the hottest day of the year, Barbadian fruit pickers Nicole and Vincent endure exploitative conditions on a UK fruit farm. When the farm’s owner arrives, tensions reach boiling point. This dark drama uncovers the reality behind our food supply chain.
About the Filmmaker
Corinne Walker is a Bristol-based writer-director. Her first short ‘Clifford’, commissioned by BBC Arts was a 90s-sitcom style look at gentrification and the housing crisis. It screened at multiple festivals. She has previously been part of the BFI Network South West Script Development Lab, BFI’s New Voices scheme, and was selected as part of ALUNA LABS first cohort. She is passionate about diverse but local stories which shine a light on her home city and the wider South West region, championing regional and underrepresented talent.
