Synopsis

Audio interviews taken from a group of BPoC women outdoor activists who are changing the story. An emotional film working to break stereotypes, acknowledge trauma and inspire a new lens on the British outdoors. Their unfolding experiences weave together a wider narrative of community and history.

About the Filmmaker

Jaha Browne, a British Caribbean Documentary Director, uses the camera to enter people’s worlds, giving them a platform for their voices to be heard through intimate portraits. Jaha has been creating content since 2011, with films screened at leading international film festivals. Olivia Martin-McGuire, British/Australian photographer gone filmmaker, co-produced “Freedom Swimmer’ which screened at over 60 festivals and won 15 awards, three of them Oscar-qualifying at Aspen, DocEdge and Sydney.
